The club had mixed success in the L&CPU Club Print and PDI Competitions last weekend. Individally, Alan Storey did superbly well with his Eyed Hawk Moth Larva (pictured), the only entry from Poulton to score maximum marks from the judges. Overall the Society was sixth equal out of the 26 clubs entering all six sections. The best section for Poulton was the Nature PDI, where we came third equal out of 41 clubs, helped by Alan's score of 15. The worst sections were the two Monochrome categories, where we came much further down the rankings. The Committee are looking for ideas to raise the standard of monochrome work, such as setting up a Monochrome Group, similar to the Nature Group, which has already driven up standards in its area.
