Baron Woods FRPS
The death of Baron Woods FRPS has just been reported in the obituary columns of the Blackpool Gazette. Baron was one of the founder members of PPS and our second Chairman, serving from 1969 to 1970. Baron was an exceptionally gifted colour printer and won many awards in local and national competitions. His work as a solicitor and subsequent appointment as a circuit judge in the North West took Baron and his wife Barbara away from Poulton-le-Fylde and they finally retired to Windermere, living in a house with fine views over the lake - see the photo of Baron taken in 2006. Baron kept up his interest in photography, joining Kendal Photography Club from where his prints were frequently seen in L&CPU exhibitions. The Gazette obituary lists his age as 94 and he seems to have been active to the end of his life. He had a print accepted in the RPS Digital Imaging Group : Print Exhibition 2022 - entitled "Moonset".
