The Martin Avery Competition is a select competition in memory of Martin Avery, a photographer from South Liverpool, who was a pioneer in creative photography. This year’s hosts were Oldham PS and we were one of six societies invited to take part. Ten prints were submitted by each club and these were judged by Robert Millin from Wigin 10. Poulton came FIRST ! Final scores were: Poulton 181 : Chorley 179 : Oldham 175 : Southport 171 : Evolve 170 : South Liverpool 155. We were asked to host this competition next year. There were only 3 images with top scores on the night and one was from our club - “Walkies” by Gill O’Meara (pictured).
