It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Charles Kenneth Ashton, one of our four Honorary Life Members. Charles joined the club in 1977 and was our Treasurer from 1980 - 2000, drawing on a lifetime of experience from his professional life as a Chartered Accountant. He was a staunch supporter of the Society and attended almost every meeting until general frailty made this more difficult. In 2001 he was made a Honorary Life Member. Charles died peacefully in the Acorn Nursing Home on Wednesday 21st May, at the age of 93.
